The Work:

The process of photographic self-portraiture allows me to decontextualize spects of my identity.

I tend to be my own voyeur, a self-semblance, deconstructing the domestic, framing fiction, revealing fissures, performing femininity. It is by way of process that conclusions of persona are sincerely considered.

Rosey Lakos Biography:

A local Santa Cruz artist that has recently received her BFA in photography from California College of the Arts. Rosey dedicates part of her art practice to photographic self-portraiture, often exploring themes of repressed women and the domestic space. She works primarily with film and is always looking to expand her knowledge of materials and craft. She lives in a plywood cabin in the woods with her husband. She is currently working on renovating a 1954 Silver Streak Trailer into her art studio.
